Courtney Marie Floral Shoot | Santa Cruz Wedding Photographer

It was Friday afternoon, and I was checking the weather like a maniac. Courtney and I had scheduled our shoot for that upcoming Sunday, but now a half inch of rainfall was expected. We emailed frantically back and forth and finally decided to just do it, we would get ready and shoot on Saturday when there was only a 20% chance of rain.

Saturday came and the weather was perfect. Cool, but clear. We all met at Courtney's house and the second I saw her floral creations I knew it was going to be a fun time. It only got better as the models started arriving. Everyone was just so nice. The kind of people you'd want to hang out with on a Saturday even if you weren't shooting. :) We traipsed around downtown Santa Cruz and spent the next four hours getting some great shots of Courtney and the models.

Courtney's three gorgeous bouquets she created especially for the shoot.

And Courtney, the brains and beauty behind Courtney Marie Floral Designs. The only words I can think of to truly describe her are kick-ass. She is fantastic. I can't wait to collaborate with her again soon!

A little jealous of her bling! :-)

The lovely ladies who made it happen!

Huge thanks to Shauna Talamantez (http://tinyurl.com/yf2grqm) for coming out and shooting with me!

Baby Finn | Aptos Baby Photographer

Excitement. That's not often a word I associate with baby shoots, but I couldn't wait to take some pictures of Baby Finn. Ever since I'd met him and his mummy, Cora, I'd wanted to do their family portraits. Cora is one of the nicest, most genuine people you'll ever meet. I haven't even known her that long, but I'm sure of that! She is super friendly and open and has one of the cutest babies I think I've ever seen. Ah, Finn! He is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! If I were standing up, I would be jumping up and down and squealing as I said that. Take a look at the pictures and try to tell me that you don't want to pick him up and give him kisses and snuggles.

Loved the little details of Finn's room.

Finn with his daddy.

I love these three shots- Finn is so blessed to have parents who absolutely adore him.

There is something timeless about shots of mom and baby. Isn't it incredible how even if you've never even held a baby before you have your own, you instinctively know how to hold it? I love the way Cora is curved protectively and lovingly around him, not just with her arms but with her whole body.

Probably one of my favorite shots of the day.
Doesn't he have a killer smile for only being 3 months old? :)
I love how his daddy is looking at him. :)
Cutest family ever.
The next day at the Park I brought my camera and captured a couple more shots of Cora and Baby Finn, just for fun.

Quick teasers from Floral Shoot | Santa Cruz Wedding Photographer

So I had the great pleasure of collaborating with Courtney Marie Floral Design for a fun shoot this afternoon- I had a BLAST. I will do a full write up and more pictures, but I just had to throw up these shots that I got of Courtney's bouquets. Seriously. They are sick. I want to get married all over again and have one of her creations for every hour of the day.

*drool* The minute I see anemones I am done for. I love the complicated simplicity (oxymoron!) of this bouquet, it looks so simple but there is still so much going on. I also loved the fact it was purple, purple is such an underused color. :-)

Timeless. I love the structure of this bouquet, the beautiful pink calla lilies just add such a cool touch of flair and dimension.

When I saw this bouquet I wanted to shriek and run away and hide with it until everyone went away and left me to keep it. The colors were incredible, vibrant and so out of the ordinary. It would be the perfect bouquet for a destination wedding or beach wedding.

Check back later for more pictures! Special thanks to Courtney Marie Floral Design, as well as our models for the event: Carley P, Vidya and Carly G. :-) And Gia for carrying everything for everyone.
